I'm pianist Miki Sawada, and I'm traveling with a piano in a van throughout the US in a project called "Gather Hear Tour." I started with a three week, 25-concert tour in Alaska in 2018, and this is my second tour in West Virginia!

Day 1 of tour was a DAY! We left Brooklyn, rode the Amtrak to Baltimore together with Ira Glass, ran a bunch of errands, and arrived in time for the first concert at Claymont Society, an intentional community. Their mission is “to create an educational environment that teaches an understanding of conscious awareness, the synergy created by unconditional love, and living a sustainable lifestyle.”
